LANDFILL HOURS OF OPERATION
(Weather permitting and excluding Statutory Holidays)
Wednesdays: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Saturdays: 8:00 am to 10:00 am
The Landfill will have an attendant on-site during hours of operation to ensure that waste is deposited in the proper location and to collect the appropriate fees. There will be notice given if there are changes due to weather or other circumstances which would require us to close the Landfill.

All other load types will be charged accordingly at the attendant’s discretion on duty.
Not Allowed: Shingles, Carpet, Linoleum, Paint cans, Tires, Batteries, Propane Tanks, Chemical Containers, Hazardous Waste or toxic wastes of any kind, Explosives, Animal Carcasses, Oil and Oil filters, Cardboard, Paper. Halocarbon items and air conditioners must have the refrigerant removed before dumping.
Discretionary Items: (The town strongly encourages property owners to get a bulk disposal container for all significant renovations) include Drywall, Insulation, Concrete, Siding, Doors, Windows, Painted Wood, Electronics, tin cans, and plastics.
The town of Milestone encourages you to use your curbside container to dispose of all household materials.
If you are unsure where to dump, DON’T DUMP! Contact the gate attendant.
The gate attendant will be recording the name and materials of all visitors. Verbal abuse to the attendant or improper dumping will not be tolerated, and you will lose your landfill privilege and possibly be subject to fines!

Garbage & Recycle Pick-Up & Disposal Policy
The following garbage pick-up and disposal policy is in effect. Garbage pick-up is on the street. (Weather Permitting). If the garbage cannot be collected on its regular day because of weather or other reasons, Loraas will try to pick it up as soon as possible.

DOMESTIC HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE (FRIDAY PICK-UP) – EVERY SECOND Friday Morning. It must be bagged in the Loraas bin and set out in the front on the street for pick-up by 7:30 am. If it cannot fit in the bin, it must wait until the following week. The cart must not be blocked and must be accessible to the truck. If cars are parked on the street, the bin must be far enough for the truck to get at it.
CURBSIDE RECYCLING (FRIDAY PICK-UP ONLY) – EVERY SECOND Friday Morning. It must be set out in the front on the street for pick-up by 7:30 am. If it cannot fit in the bin, it must wait until the following week. The cart must not be blocked and must be accessible to the truck. If cars are parked on the street, the bin must be far enough for the truck to get at it.

Community Living Donation Bin
Community Living Donation Bin is between Hoff Insurance and Teeger Plumbing and Heating on Main Street. If the bin is full, DO NOT leave bags outside of the bin. The bin will be emptied every 2nd Wednesday.
