Business Licenses & Direct Sellers
Business Licenses Please note the Town of Milestone does not issue business licenses.
Regulations for Door-to-Door Sales In Saskatchewan, door-to-door or “direct sales” are regulated by the Direct Sellers Act and Direct Sellers Regulations. These acts are enforced by the Consumer Protection Division of the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA). The FCAA oversees the regulation of products and service providers, protects consumer interests, handles complaints, and enforces various provincial statutes.
Obtaining a Direct Seller’s License Direct Sellers must obtain a license from the Consumer Protection Division of the FCAA. Engaging in direct sales without a license is an offence.
Reporting Unlicensed Direct Sellers While most Direct Sellers obtain the necessary licenses, some do not. If you encounter an unlicensed Direct Seller or one who is aggressive or inappropriate in their approach, please file a complaint at www.fcaa.gov.sk.ca.
You can also apply for a Direct Seller’s license, verify a Direct Seller’s license status, or submit inquiries at https://fcaa.gov.sk.ca/regulated-businesses-persons/businesses/directdoor-to-door-sellers.
